Merced County Employees keep the community running! These dedicated county employees are the backbone of Merced County—maintaining roads, supporting families, protecting public health, and delivering essential services that keep this community thriving. Their contributions are invaluable, and they deserve fair compensation that reflects their commitment and the vital role they play. California recently raised the minimum wage to $16.50, and the Merced County Board of Supervisors did the bare minimum—raising minimum wages to just $16.51. County workers never give just the bare minimum to support this county, and they should never be treated with the bare minimum in pay and respect. UPE believes its members deserve real respect—reflected in fair wages, not the bare minimum increases just to stay legally compliant. County employees keep this community running, and it’s time the Board acknowledges their worth with fair and meaningful wage increases.
