Sutter Court: Workplace Violence Prevention Policy

On July 18, 2024, UPE met and conferred with Sutter Superior Court over the creation of a new Workplace Violence Prevention Policy (WVPP).  The policy is the result of a new state law mandating the creation of such policies by all employers.  The policy mandates the creation of methods for reporting, tracking, and mitigating workplace violence.  As a result, the Court will have a new way for members to report incidents of Workplace Violence.  The Court is also required to keep a log of all incidents of workplace violence.  Employees can access these records through HR.  The Court is also required to provide employees with ongoing training regarding workplace violence.  Members are encouraged to report all incidents of workplace violence to the Court through whatever means they feel comfortable.  Should members have questions or concerns, please reach out to UPE.
