Placer Court-General Unit: Bargaining Update

On September 30, 2024, your Placer Court Bargaining Team met with Court management in a last-ditch effort to get a contract with a letter in hand to enter the mediation process if talks broke down. We were hopeful that our proposal would bridge the gap, make a difference, and bring bargaining to a close.

We proposed to keep the 3.5% increase (retroactive to August 31, 2024) and $1000 for each member, including language that would guarantee that no other classification in the Court would receive anything more than what we would receive through the life of this one-year agreement (Me Too clause).
The Court was unwilling to accept this language, which wouldn’t cost them a dime. All we wanted was to ensure that all court employees were treated equally, and the Court was not willing to move in our direction.

Your bargaining team was not willing to accept their counterproposal, so they presented a letter to the CEO to initiate the mediation process. Once we have a date, we will keep you informed each step of the way.

TOGETHER WE ARE STRONG!
