Placer Court - General Unit: Bargaining Update

On August 21, 2024, your Placer Court Bargaining Team met with Court Administration for our fourth session of contract negotiations.  

 

Your team presented a total of twelve additional proposals that consist of:

• Reimbursements for employees.

• Establishing an Employee Benefits Advisory Committee.

• Removing steps from the Court Reporter classification.

• Rest periods.

• Meal periods.

• Overtime.

• An economic proposal to increase salaries.

 

We received five outright rejections to our proposals and five counterproposals from the Court. The Court rejected two of our proposals under the premise that “they are covered in the policies and procedures.” We recognize this is a method of maintaining control, as policies and procedures are frequently updated by management. They chose to play it rough, but these rejections are in no way a final decision.

 

Negotiations will again be in full swing next session, as we will push back hard and try our best to change their positions. Our next session is on August 27, 2024. Your bargaining team asks that you wear RED on bargaining days to support the team.
