On November 13, 2024, UPE met with Merced County to discuss the upcoming minimum wage increase to $16.50, which will go into effect on January 1, 2025, with the first payroll adjustments appearing on December 30, 2024.
This increase will affect two classifications in Bargaining Unit 3 represented by UPE: Office Assistant I and Account Clerk I. Both positions, currently paid at $16.03 per hour, will be raised to $16.51 per hour. The new rate will be reflected in these classifications’ paychecks on December 30th.
