On September 12, 2023, your UPE Negotiations team met again with El Dorado Superior Court representatives to continue contract negotiations. The Court originally offered to provide UPE with a budget presentation at this meeting.
However, the Judicial Council has not responded yet to the Court’s draft budget. Instead, UPE expected to see a preliminary budget presentation.
However, despite ‘trying their best,’ the Court was unable to provide even preliminary budget numbers. The budget is a critical part of the negotiation process. UPE and the Court will not meet again until October 3, 2023.
If the Court does not have its final budget yet from the JCC, they will provide UPE with preliminary numbers. The Court also provided UPE with information relating to healthcare rates for 2024 and a proposal to incorporate portions of previously agreed side letters. UPE is evaluating the health care information and continuing to develop proposals. UPE will be prepared to make economic proposals as soon as the Court has firm budget numbers.
