Auditor-Controller Telework Policy

UPE
On January 15, 2025, UPE representatives met with the Department of Auditor Controller to discuss a proposed telework policy. This policy will enable eligible employees to work remotely, making it easier to balance work and personal responsibilities.

Under the new telework policy, employees who can perform their job tasks from a remote location will be allowed to do so while still being required to work on-site for at least 50% of their work time. Communication is key, so employees will need to remain available through phone, email, or virtual meetings and respond in a timely manner. For those on Alternative Work Schedules (AWS) or flexible schedules, telework can be combined with these arrangements for even more convenience.

To qualify for telework under the Department of Auditor-Controller, employees must have at least six months of service. Additional factors such as job responsibilities, access to work-related documents, and business needs will also be considered. Each employee who wishes to be considered as a candidate for remote work must submit a written request for consideration as provided in AP242. Employees are responsible that confidential documents and data security is maintained.

UPE believes this new telework policy is a significant step towards creating a more flexible work environment, ultimately enhancing your work-life balance. We’re excited about these developments and look forward to supporting you as these changes roll out.
